Caring Connections: Nurturing Support for Adults

Therapy is a collaborative process centred on your individual experiences. It provides a safe space for you to share your story, allowing us to recognise your strengths and understand the challenges you encounter. Feeling overwhelmed is a normal response, and seeking support is a brave step. Together, we will identify the underlying issues contributing to your challenges and explore strategies for meaningful change. Your journey is significant, and I am here to assist you as you aim for a more fulfilling future.

Jacqui is experienced in treating a variety of mental health challenges, including:

  • anxiety, social anxiety, panic, OCD, perfectionism

  • trauma, including PTSD and Complex PTSD

  • depression, mood-related problems and low self-esteem

  • grief and loss

  • adjustment difficulties, stress, and burnout

  • pregnancy and postnatal concerns

Jacqui's therapy style is all about you and what you need. She takes an integrative approach, keeping your goals front and centre to make sure therapy feels relevant and works for you. With a focus on trauma-informed methods backed by solid evidence, she's dedicated to tailoring the experience to fit your individual needs. Here are some of the strategies she uses:

  • Schema Therapy, an integrative therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing deeply ingrained patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, known as schemas, which are developed in early life and impact a person's relationships and emotional well-being.

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), which fosters self-compassion and emotional resilience by combining techniques from cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and evolutionary psychology. This approach aims to help individuals reduce self-criticism and cultivate a kinder relationship with themselves.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), is a therapeutic approach that alleviates distress from traumatic memories. Research shows it effectively treats PTSD, anxiety disorders, and depression, making it valuable for trauma recovery in clinical psychology.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which focusses on identifying your thoughts and feelings, and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve emotional regulation and mental well-being.

You are a breathing thing.

A memory to someone. A home to a life”
